Oxana Longinova
My name is Oxana Longinova, and for years, I’ve been writing books about my kids’ childhood adventures—capturing those magical moments before they fade from our memory. Each book is 240 pages filled with love, laughter, and a good dose of nostalgia. These books have become our family chronicle, documenting our children’s growth as they learned to navigate the world, and our growth as parents, trying to help them understand and find their place in it. Now, with my kids grown up (23 and 18 years old) and living far away, I still hold onto those precious memories. They live on in my heart—and in the books on our shelves. The stories within them celebrate the humor, spontaneity, and unpredictability of childhood, and I hope they bring as much joy and laughter to your family as they’ve brought to ours.
Why a Book with a Game?
It all began with an unexpected gift we received at the hospital after the birth of our first child. It was a book called “Play with Babies!” (“Lekke med babyen” in Norwegian), designed to inspire new parents to engage with their newborns through play. Little did we know that this simple book would spark a lifelong passion that would become our family’s identity.
Over the years, we discovered that playing games wasn’t just fun—it was a powerful, creative way to connect with our children. It helped them make sense of the world around them while developing essential social, emotional, and cognitive skills, from language to math. I’m confident there isn’t a board game, card game, or trivia challenge we haven’t played as a family. And when we ran out of ready-made games, we used our creativity to invent our own.
